Clothing essentials

For a summer stay

In your suitcase, pack only lightweight clothing that dries quickly. Opt for linen or cotton outfits that provide comfort even in periods of intense heat. If you're planning hikes, choose T-shirts made from breathable fabrics that wick away perspiration. For swimming, in addition to your swimsuit and towel, pack high-SPF sunscreen alongside an after-sun lotion, plus your sunglasses and a hat or cap.

For a winter stay

Sweaters or fleece, a windproof jacket and a raincoat will suit those who want to discover landscapes under crisp breezes or simply enjoy the pleasure of strolling outdoors.

Throughout the year

In all seasons, clothing covering your shoulders and knees will be necessary when visiting sacred sites. Complete your suitcase with an elegant outfit if you plan to participate in the "passeggiata".

Equipment and accessories

A first-aid kit is among the essentials you should never travel without. It must always contain adhesive bandages, a thermometer, tweezers for splinters, one or two sterile syringes, a sterile suture kit, several sachets of saline solution and full-spectrum sunscreen. Also bring:

- Antiseptic solution for minor cuts to disinfect;

- Antidiarrheal medication for mild stomach issues;

- Paracetamol for fever;

- Ear drops for painful ears;

- Antihistamine cream for insect bite reactions;

- Burn cream for minor burns;

- Bruise relief gel or homeopathic arnica;

- Sterile strips for open wounds.

Your suitcase should also contain the following accessories:

- Cash, your credit card and your ID card;

- Your driver's license for car rentals;

- A camera to capture your finest vacation memories;

- A power adapter;

- Hiking shoes for treks and a pair of sandals;

- A phrase book or language guide;

- Insect repellent for countryside stays;

- A notebook and pen for your travel impressions.
